The Business of Inclusion Podcast Pilot Episode

Not everyone that knows me knows that I am someone who has spent many years working through intense feelings of shame over being myself. Being raised with values that didn’t always feel like who I was was truly valuable was a lot to work through, and I still find myself working through feelings of shame to this day. However, I’ve learned over the years how to value myself for who I truly am, including those parts of me that I was taught were wrong.

Having this personal experience is a big reason why I jump at the opportunity to work with organizations that focus on serving individuals who may have had a similar experience.

So when Zi Donnya Piggott of Open for Business reached out to me about an idea of starting a podcast, I was excited to help them bring their concept to life.

We started by discussing podcasts they like and would like to aspire to be more like. Using this approach, we found that a narrative podcast would be the best fit for them.

To make this work, I would write a script and we would go over several iterations before recording the narrative and auxiliary interview.

The final product was a piece of audio that I’m very proud to have as part of my portfolio:

Tasks performed:

  • Script Writing
  • Remote Recording
  • Audio Editing & Mastering
